Nick Oberheiden Litigation Victories

Nick Oberheiden litigation victories

I believe in efficiency and ethics. I am not a legal Rambo. I see these self-described “aggressive” and “super” lawyers come and go. At least in my line of work — federal litigation — I can’t say that the loudest lawyer necessarily enjoys standing or credibility.

Federal judges and members of the most powerful law firm in the world, the U.S. Department of Justice, are genuinely unimpressed when defense attorneys — often with zero name recognition or track record — act pretentiously or even, believe it or not, try to scare prosecutors. At best, such tactics achieve short-term results, but will burn these advocates and their future clients permanently.

A simple factor defines litigation victories: achieving the client’s goal. These goals vary. Some clients want me to discreetly settle their legal problems; your objective is my mission. Other clients are already publicly exposed and desire a graceful, expedited exit; I have resolved hundreds of litigation disputes, often involving the federal government.

Dr. Nick Oberheiden, Esq.

It’s a personal choice, one’s own legal philosophy. Cautiously speaking, my approach of determined diplomacy seems to work better. Why do I think so? After all, one of the highest rewards a lawyer can earn is to be hired by the other side and to be trusted by your opponents and peers. Verified clients have said this publicly about me:

  • “1st class service.”
  • “Uncompromising client commitment.”
  • “Superb lawyer with exceptional skills.”
  • “Brilliant.” “Mesmerizing.” “Simply the best.”

Notably, senior Justice Department officials, elected officials, presidentially appointed lawyers, U.S. diplomats, a sitting U.S. governor, current FBI, DEA, and IRS agents as well as lawyer colleagues from across the country (including one of the three largest law firms in the world) called me when they needed discreet and solid legal help.

Be reassured that these dignitaries and public officials can choose from a large network of lawyers; they could have chosen many other attorneys. Be reassured that they scrutinized my credentials, my approach, and my reputation. In well over one thousand federal investigations, litigation proceedings, and court appearances across the United States, I have strived to combine effective advocacy with reliable collegiality, zealous lawyering with unimpeachable ethics.

  • In federal civil cases, I have defended corporations, business owners, executives, managers, board members, Ivy-league academics, physicians, lawyers, celebrities, and many others in disputes aggregating to approximately $ 20b.
  • In federal criminal cases, I have appeared in courts across the entire nation from Alaska to New York City, from Denver to North Dakota, from New Hampshire to Guam, and from Seattle to Dallas and anywhere in between.
