Gary A. Loeffert is a former Special Agent in Charge of the FBI and a former Chief of Staff at the FBI Headquarters in Washington D.C.
FBI Executive Level. Mr. Loeffert recently retired after 24 years with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. During his tenure, Mr. Loeffert held numerous management and executive positions and shaped the workings of FBI offices in Florida, New York, Texas, and at headquarters in Washington D.C. To highlight only two recent positions, Mr. Loeffert directly coordinated all counterterrorism, counterintelligence, and weapons of mass destruction matters of foreign adversaries with the Executive Assistant Director of the National Security Branch. As part of that role of Chief of Staff, Mr. Loeffert prepared briefings for the White House National Security Council, the Director of National Intelligence, and various congressional committees. As the Special Agent in Charge in Western New York, Mr. Loeffert directed all operational, strategic, and tactical decisions of more than 250 employees with particular emphasis on cybersecurity, counterintelligence, counterterrorism, public corruption, money laundering, and healthcare fraud. As Special Agent, Supervisory Special Agent, and Assistant Special Agent in Charge, Mr. Loeffert previously served FBI offices in Miami, Jacksonville, Dallas, Buffalo, and at FBI Headquarters in Washington D.C.
Client Services. SAC Loeffert maintains eligibility to Top Secret and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearances to apply to confidential audits and non-public corporate investigation involving cyber intrusion, theft of trade secrets, insider trading, healthcare fraud, anti-money laundering compliance, and national security assignments.
Education. Mr. Loeffert holds a master’s degree in criminal justice from Tarleton State University and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from State University of New York Brockport. Before joining the FBI, Mr. Loeffert was a police officer in Charlotte, North Carolina.
