Steven Baskerville

Cybersecurity Consultant
Former Supervisory U.S. Secret Service Special Agent

A nationally recognized cyber threat investigator and technologist, Steven Baskerville brings 21 years of elite federal law enforcement experience to every engagement. A retired Supervisory Special Agent of the U.S. Secret Service, Steven spent two decades operating at the highest levels of transnational cybercrime investigation, emerging technology deployment, and federal law enforcement leadership before transitioning to academia and private consulting.

Cyber Threat Investigations & AI/ML Leadership. Steven served as a senior leader within the U.S. Secret Service’s National Computer Forensics Institute (NCFI) Lab, where he directed the development and operationalization of artificial intelligence and machine learning models purpose-built for investigating network-based cybercrime, connected devices, and embedded systems. His work advanced law enforcement’s ability to identify and counter sophisticated threat actors at scale — including cryptocurrency fraud networks, relay attack operations, and transnational identity fraud schemes. Steven led 30+ direct reports and managed multi-million-dollar technology research and development budgets, consistently delivering investigative tools and capabilities ahead of the threat curve.

Digital Forensics & Technical Expertise. Steven is a Certified Computer Forensics Examiner (CFCE) with deep hands-on expertise across mobile device forensics (iOS, Android), network intrusion response, skimming device forensics, and embedded device reverse engineering. He holds advanced certifications through the U.S. Secret Service’s ECSAP program covering mobile, network, embedded, and platform-specific forensics disciplines, as well as Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) certification through ITC. His toolset spans industry-leading CTI platforms — including MISP, Anomali, Recorded Future, and OpenCTI — as well as MITRE ATT&CK mapping, OSINT collection, malware reverse engineering, and custom AI/ML operationalization.

Executive Briefing & Government Relations. Throughout his career, Steven regularly briefed Cabinet-level Secretaries and members of Congress on emerging technology threats, risk trends, and intervention strategies — translating highly technical intelligence into actionable policy guidance. This experience makes Steven a uniquely capable advisor for organizations navigating the intersection of federal scrutiny, cybersecurity risk, and regulatory compliance.

Academic Leadership. Since December 2025, Steven has served as a Cybersecurity Instructor and Adjunct Professor at Oklahoma State University, where he teaches specialized coursework in Cyber Security and Digital Forensics, leads training in Mobile Device Forensics, and contributes to curriculum development in network intrusion investigations and embedded device reverse engineering.

Representative experience includes:
