Kate R. Vogel

Kathryn R. Vogel was appointed First Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Alaska in 2022.
Before joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Ms. Vogel served as the Municipal Attorney for the Municipality of Anchorage and as a Senior Assistant Attorney General for the State of Alaska in the Opinions, Appeals, and Ethics section. Ms. Vogel first moved to Alaska in 2006 to clerk for Alaska Supreme Court Justice Walter Carpeneti. She spent several years in private practice in New York before returning to Alaska to clerk for Judge Morgan Christen of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Ms. Vogel earned her bachelor’s degree from Brandeis University in 2003 and her law degree from Yale Law School in 2006.
