Marc Silverman

Marc H. Silverman assumed the role of Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut on January 18, 2025, following the resignation of U.S. Attorney Vanessa Roberts Avery. Mr. Silverman has been with the U.S. Attorney’s Office since 2010, where he most recently served as First Assistant U.S. Attorney. From 2022 to 2024, he led the Criminal Division, and from 2014 to 2022, he was the Deputy Chief of the Appellate Division.
A 2003 graduate of Yale University, Mr. Silverman earned his J.D. from Yale Law School in 2006. Before joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, he was an Arthur Liman Public Interest Fellow at Advocates for Children of New York, Inc., worked in private practice, and clerked for Judge Kimba M. Wood of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and Judge Dennis Jacobs of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
Mr. Silverman is the 55th U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut, an office established in 1789.
