Andrew B. Birge

Andrew B. Birge currently serves as the Acting United States Attorney for the Western District of Michigan. He has been with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for many years, holding various roles, including Acting, Interim, and Court-appointed U.S. Attorney from 2017 to 2022.
Mr. Birge began his legal career as a law clerk for the late Chief U.S. District Court Judge Richard A. Enslen in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Before joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, he practiced as an Associate at a large law firm based in Chicago.
Mr. Birge holds a law degree from Columbia University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Carleton College.
