Saylor Fleming

Sayler A. Fleming was appointed by Attorney General William P. Barr on December 11, 2020, to succeed U.S. Attorney Jeff Jensen. She officially assumed office on December 31, 2020.

“I am deeply honored and humbled to serve as United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri,” said Fleming. “Having spent the majority of my career as an Assistant United States Attorney, I have immense respect for the work of my colleagues in upholding the rule of law and fulfilling the mission of the Department of Justice. I look forward to continuing this vital work alongside our federal, state, and local partners.”

As United States Attorney, Fleming is the chief federal law enforcement official for the Eastern District of Missouri, which spans 49 counties across three divisions—Northern, Eastern, and Southern. Fleming brings significant legal experience to her role, having prosecuted and supervised violent crime cases throughout her career. Most recently, she served as the office’s Appellate Chief.

Before joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Fleming was an associate at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner and clerked for the Honorable Stephen N.
