R. Matthew Price

On August 1, 2025, Attorney General Pamela Bondi announced the appointment of R. Matthew Price as United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri. He was sworn into office by Chief Judge Phillips that same day.
Price brings both public and private sector legal experience to the role. He began his career as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Jefferson County, Missouri, and later served as an Assistant Circuit Attorney in the St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office. In 2008, he joined the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Tennessee as a criminal prosecutor. He then moved to the private sector as Lead Counsel for Compliance, Investigations and Government Litigation at a Fortune 100 company, overseeing internal investigations and global compliance programs. In 2014, he served as Chief Prosecuting Attorney for the city of Germantown, Tennessee, before returning to private practice. Most recently, he served as Chief Legal Officer for Diamond Pet Foods.
As United States Attorney, Price oversees federal criminal and civil cases across the Western District of Missouri, which includes Kansas City, Jefferson City, St. Joseph, and Springfield.
